Anorexia Nervosa SYMPTOMS CHECK IN

PHYSICAL SIGNS

Rapid weight loss or persistent low weight. Loss or disturbance of menstruation in girls. Fainting or dizziness. Feeling cold most of the time, even in warm weather. Feeling bloated or constipated. Feeling tired and disrupted sleeping. Lethargy or low energy.

PSYCHOLOGICAL SIGNS

Preoccupation with eating, food, body shape and weight. Feeling anxious and/or irritable around meal times. Intense fear of gaining weight. Self-loathing or guilt, particularly after eating. Depressive or anxious symptoms. Difficulty concentrating. Distorted body image, body image dissatisfaction.

BEHAVIORAL SIGNS

Dieting behaviours. Deliberate misuse of laxatives or appetite suppressants. Repetitive or obsessive behaviours relating to body shape/weight. Eating in private and avoiding meals with other people.

Compulsive or excessive exercising. Radical changes in food preferences.
