MINDFULNESS BREATHWORK FOR PAIN MANAGEMENT

This breathwork script encourages individuals to practice mindful ness as a way to manage pain by cultivating a nonjudgmental awareness of their present experience. Find a comfortable seated or lying position. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to center yourself in the present moment. Begin by bringing your attention to your breath. Notice the sensa tion of air entering and exiting your nostrils, the rise and fall of your chest or abdomen. As you continue to breathe deeply, bring your awareness to any areas of pain or discomfort in your body. Notice the sensations— whether they're sharp, dull, throbbing, or pulsing—without judgment. With each inhale, imagine breathing in acceptance and compassion for your body and its sensations. With each exhale, imagine releasing any resistance or tension surrounding the pain. Continue this mindfulness breathwork for several minutes, allowing yourself to fully embrace your present experience with openness and curiosity. Notice how your relationship to pain may shift as you cultivate a sense of mindfulness and acceptance.
