ALTERNATE NOSTRIL BREATHING

Alternate nostril breathing, also known as Nadi Shodhana, is a tradi tional yogic practice that balances the left and right hemispheres of the brain, promoting mental clarity and calmness. Combining this practice with visualization can enhance its calming effects and deepen your sense of inner peace. Sit comfortably with your spine straight and shoulders relaxed. Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths to settle in. Rest your left hand gently on your knee. Bring your right hand up to your face, using your thumb to close your right nostril. Inhale slowly and deeply through your left nostril, filling your lungs completely. As you do, visualize a calm, soothing light entering your body with the breath, spreading warmth and relaxation. Close your left nostril with your right ring finger, and release your right nostril. Exhale slowly and smoothly through your right nostril, visualizing any tension or stress leaving your body with the breath. Now, inhale deeply through your right nostril, imagining the calm, soothing light filling your lungs and spreading throughout your body. Close your right nostril with your thumb, and release your left nostril. Exhale slowly through your left nostril, visualizing the release of stress and tension.
